titleOfInvention | Garlic-resistant Lactobacillus as Probiotic for Feed |
abstract | In order to isolate the lactic acid bacteria resistant to garlic's antibacterial activity, 112 strains grown in the medium to which garlic extract was added were isolated from kimchi, salted fish and pickles. Among 14 strains, P.GW50-2 strains derived from green kimchi had the most excellent antibacterial activity against acid and bile and livestock pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Shigella flesneri . Therefore, it was selected as a strain that can be used as a probiotic. The selected strain was identified as Lactobacillus plantarum by sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and named L. plantarum TJ-LP-002. L. plantarum TJ-LP-002 is Bacillus cereus , S. aureus , Clostridium Gram-positive bacteria such as perfringes and Aeromonas It showed relatively broad antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as hydrophila , E. coli, Pseudomonas, Salmonella and Shigella . |
