abstract Cytochrome c552 having high stability on a chemically stable gold electrode provides a long term stable available protein immobilized electrode immobilized while maintaining its electron transport ability and a method for producing the same. A hydrophobic thiol and a hydrophilic thiol are formed on the gold electrode 11 to form a self-organizing monomolecular film 12. The protein in which the cytochrome c552 (13) is immobilized on the gold electrode 11 through the self-organizing monolayer 12 is immersed in the cytochrome c552 solution by immersing the gold electrode 11 on which the self-organizing monolayer 12 is formed. An immobilization electrode is produced.
