abstract |
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for melt processible semicrystalline poly (aryl ether ketones) incorporating phthalazinone and 4,4'-biphenol as comonomer units. The polymer is resistant to and insoluble in conventional organic solvents and liquids as well as in aggressive organic solvents such as chloroform and chlorinated liquids. The polymer is melt processable through techniques such as extrusion, injection molding and extrusion molding. Semicrystalline poly (aryl ether ketones) containing phthalazinone comonomer units have properties that make them suitable for making high temperature resistant molded systems and other products. |
