abstract |
The present invention provides (a) preparing an aqueous mixture of monomers selected to provide a superabsorbent polymer after polymerization, (b) feeding the monomer mixture to a reactor, and (c) free-radical polymerization of the aqueous monomer mixture in the reactor. Performing a superabsorbent polymer gel, (d) recovering the superabsorbent polymer gel from the reactor, and (e) drying the superabsorbent polymer gel recovered from the reactor and removing from any step of the process. At least one exhaust-gas stream is washed with a basic aqueous solution prior to exhaust to obtain a scrubber aqueous solution which is at least partially recycled to any of steps (a) to (e) of the process. . |
