Method for producing molecular sieve beads |
abstract |
Methods for preparing various bead compositions have been developed. This method involves preparing a reaction mixture of skeletal element sources of molecular sieves. This reaction mixture may optionally include a molecular sieve seed. Additional sources of framework elements are added to provide concentrations above the critical supersaturation limit to form beads. Depending on the reaction mixture composition and the reaction conditions, it is possible to obtain beads which are substantially crystalline molecular sieves from substantially amorphous beads. In addition, these beads can be further treated to attach a molecular sieve layer on the beads. |
