Compositions and Methods for Making Stable Monolayer Liposome Suspensions |
abstract |
Described are compositions and methods for making and using stable transparent to translucent monolayer liposome suspensions. The suspension comprises a liposome formulation having a plurality of uniform monolayer liposome particles having an average particle size of about 50 nm to about 290 nm. The particles have a density from about 0.95 g / cc to about 1.25 g / cc and are suspended in the outer phase composition present in an amount from about 30% to about 75% by weight of the liposome suspension. Liposomal formulations are formed from aqueous liposome solutions comprising an oil soluble composition and a water soluble composition. The oil-soluble composition is present at a concentration of about 5% to about 33% by weight of the liposome solution, and the water-soluble composition is present at a concentration of about 67% to about 95% by weight of the liposome solution. |
