Hepatitis C antibody and its use |
abstract |
The present invention provides for the identification and characterization of steric epitopes of envelope protein E2 of hepatitis C virus (HCV). The present invention provides a panel of human monoclonal antibodies that recognize the steric epitope of E2. Antibodies are derived from patients infected with HCV. The present invention provides methods of using HCV antibodies as therapeutic, diagnostic, and / or prophylactic agents. The present invention provides mimotopes having intact stereoscopic epitopes and methods of using the same. The present invention provides a method of classifying patients based on their response to HCV. The present invention provides pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment and prevention of HCV comprising one or more HCV antibodies. |
