The present invention relates to a method for controlling stem and progenitor cell differentiation in mammals. The method of the present invention can be used to regulate and control differentiation and maturation of stunts, especially human stem cells, along specific cells or tissue lines. The method of the present invention provides for the differentiation of stem or progenitor cell populations along specific cell and tissue lines, in particular for the differentiation of embryonic-like stem cells generated from the postpartum placenta or of specific small organic molecules for early progenitor cells to differentiate into granulocyte lineages. It is related to use. Finally, the present invention relates to the use of such differentiated stem and progenitor cells in transplantation and other medical treatments. |
