L-fucose α1 → 6 specific lectins |
abstract |
The present invention discloses novel lectins capable of specific binding to L-fucose α1 → 6 sugar chains. The present invention also discloses the use of the lectins. The L-fucose α1 → 6 specific lectins of the present invention are characterized by the following: (1) the lectins are extracted from Basidiomycetes or Bacillus bacilli, and (2) the lectins are 4,000-40,000 sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide. Molecular weight by gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and (3) the lectin has affinity for L-fucose α1 → 6 sugar chains, the affinity (at 25 ° C.) of 1.0 × 10 4 M − It is represented by one or more binding constants. The lectins can be used to specifically detect L-fucose α1 → 6 sugar chains and are effective for the purification of L-fucose α1 → 6 sugar chains or non-L-fucose α1 → 6 sugar chains. |
