abstract The present invention relates to a method for reducing metal ions by irradiating microwaves to a compound having a pyrrolidone functional group and its use. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method of supplying a lithium source or a conductive metal necessary for forming an SEI film by irradiating microwaves to a compound having a pyrrolidone functional group to an electrode active material. The present invention is characterized by reducing metal ions by irradiating microwaves to a composition containing a compound having a pyrrolidone functional group and a metal compound. The present invention can provide an additional lithium source without using a reducing agent, and thus has an effect of providing an additional lithium source or a conductive metal for improving output characteristics used in forming an SEI film without side reaction of the reducing agent.
