abstract Provided are methods for measuring the presence or concentration of certain components, such as antigens, in a sample, such as blood, and adhesive compositions for use in devices therefor. In one exemplary embodiment of the adhesive composition, the composition comprises an adhesive, water, poloxamer, and an anticoagulant. The adhesive can have certain properties such as hydrophilicity, pressure sensitiveness, heat-activating properties and / or water solubility. Adhesives are particularly useful because they can help to improve the flow of the sample in the device. For example, if the device is an immunosensor, the adhesive can help prevent blood clotting in the chamber of the immune sensor. This allows the concentration of the sample to be measured more efficiently and accurately. Methods of preparing the compositions and devices in which the compositions can be used are also provided, and methods of use thereof are also provided.
