abstract In order to exclude amino acids such as glutamic acid similar in structure to GABA, a specific amino group transfer enzyme and a dehydrogenated oxygen which requires oxidized nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate as coenzymes are used to generate reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate. Of γ-amino butyric acid, which comprises a step of deactivating the enzyme and a step of measuring the water-soluble formazan dye produced by reacting an electron transporter in the presence of a tetrazolium salt that produces a water-soluble formazan dye in the resulting NADPH.
