abstract |
The present invention relates to an object having a corrosion resistant surface that is ductile enough to be mechanically deformed without causing cracks or other vulnerable areas to damage or destroy the corrosion resistance. The surface layer preferably comprises at least 80% refractory metal such as tantalum, and an alloy layer is formed having the necessary ductility and adhesion performance between the surface layer and the core member. |
