abstract | A charge control agent containing a metal compound of the cyclic phenol sulfide represented by the general formula (1) as an active ingredient, and a toner containing at least one kind of the compound, a colorant and a binder resin. This charge control agent overcomes the problem that the sharpness of the initial copy image is insufficient or that the quality of the copy image is likely to fluctuate during continuous copying. In addition, the change in the charge amount with respect to the change in temperature and humidity is small, the environmental stability is good, and the frictional charge amount is high.
