titleOfInvention | Fluorescence-based Assay to Detect Sodium / Calcium Exchanger (NCC) "Reverse Mode" Regulatory Compound |
abstract | The vehicle is a new target class with huge potential, providing scientific and economic opportunities. Sodium / calcium exchanger is an important mechanism for removing Ca 2 + from diverse cells. Sodium / calcium exchanger is of the heart, and pushes the Ca 2 + entered through Ca 2 + channel initiate contraction, Na + enters the heart cell. It is of great importance to identify compounds that modulate the calcium outward transport activity of the sodium / calcium exchanger (forward mode) as well as the calcium transport activity of the sodium / calcium exchanger (reverse mode). The present invention relates to fluorescence based assays for detecting NCX "reverse mode" modulating compounds. The present invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising the cells primers for NCX and to the use of a kit of parts for testing the compound for activity as an agent or antagonist of NCX. |
