abstract |
A composition is provided for combining an agriculturally effective amount of at least one environmentally friendly biological control agent and at least one insect control agent and / or fungicide to improve overall plant vitality and yield. The compositions of the present invention are particularly effective in the presence of plant parasitic nematodes and fungal species. In addition to reducing insect pressure, the compositions of the present invention enhance their effects by enhancing the root system of plants and improving the establishment of biological control agents in the rhizosphere. The use of the compositions of the present invention results in an overall reduction in crop losses caused by plant parasitic nematodes or fungi, which is much greater than would be expected if the components were applied alone. Also provided are methods of using the compositions of the present invention. In addition, the compositions according to the invention exhibit synergistic insecticidal, nematicide, acaricide or fungicidal activity. |
