titleOfInvention Imaging system for combined full-color reflection and near-infrared imaging
abstract Imaging systems for capturing NIR and full-color images include light sources that provide visible light and NIR light to the viewing portion, such as biological tissue, wherein the camera returns from reflected blue light, reflected green light, and the viewing portion. One or more image sensors configured to separately detect combined red reflected light / detected NIR light. The controller in signal communication with the light source and the camera is configured to control the light source to continuously illuminate the viewing portion with temporary blue / green dimming light and with red dimming light and NIR excitation light. The at least one red dimmed light and the NIR excitation light are periodically switched on and off simultaneously with the capture of the red and NIR light images at the camera.
