The present invention relates to the use of high doses of folic acid or equivalent doses thereof for slowing myocardial dysfunction in ischemia and for improving damage after reperfusion. The present invention specifically relates to early treatment by application of high doses of folic acid or equivalent doses of derivatives of at least 200 mg in active ischemia prior to reperfusion. |
