abstract The present invention relates to a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in a fatty acid synthase (FASN) gene useful for the determination of meat color, texture, backfat thickness, or quantity index of Korean beef. polymorphism) markers, methods for determining the quality of Hanwoo beef using these markers, and kits used for judging meat color, texture, backfat thickness or meat mass index of Hanwoo beef. According to the method of judging quality of Hanwoo beef using the SNP marker of the present invention, the meat color, texture, back fat thickness or meat index can be quickly determined in a very simple manner, and the quality of beef based on the database established on the quality of Hanwoo beef It can be usefully used to improve the excellent Hanwoo breed.
