Formation of Amphiphilic Molecules Layer |
abstract |
An apparatus having elements for forming a chamber is used to form a layer separating two volumes of an aqueous solution, the elements having a body of non-conductive material formed in at least one recess opening into the chamber, The recess includes an electrode. A pretreated coating of hydrophobic fluid is applied to the fuselage across the recess. The aqueous solution plus both lipophilic molecules flows across the body to cover the recess, so that the aqueous solution is introduced into the recess from the chamber and a layer of both lipophilic molecules is formed across the recess to introduce the volume of the aqueous solution introduced into the recess. Separate from the remaining volume of the aqueous solution. |
