titleOfInvention | Use of branched alkanediol carboxylic acid diesters in polyurethane-based casting binders |
abstract | FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to mold material mixtures for the production of castings for the casting industry, comprising at least a refractory mold material and a polyurethane-based binder system comprising a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component. The polyurethane-based binder systems according to the invention each comprise at least 3% by weight of branched alkanediolic carboxylic acid diesters and at least 10% by weight of aromatic solvents relative to the binder system. Preferably, 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol-diisobutyrate is used as the carboxylic acid diester. Casting industrial castings made from the molding material mixture are characterized by high strength and less generation of toxic gases and soot when casting. |
