abstract The present invention is a heterogeneous metal-containing material comprising a host material and a particulate dopant material including primary particles agglomerated into secondary particles, wherein the particulate dopant material is formed of the host material. It is characterized by being homogeneously distributed in the secondary particles. In particular the dopant material is TiO 2 and the host material is any one or mixture of Ni x Mn y Co z hydroxides, oxyhydroxides and oxides, where 0 ≦ x, y, z ≦ 1 and x + y + z = 1.
