abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the recovery of C3-C6 alcohols from dilute aqueous solutions such as fermentation broths. These methods provide improved volumetric productivity for fermentation and allow recovery of alcohol. This method also reduces energy in the production and drying of the fermentation broth used, due to the simultaneous fermentation and recovery process, which increases the amount of alcohol produced and recovered per quantity of dried fermentation broth. Thus, the present invention enables the production and recovery of C3-C6 alcohols at capital cost and reduced operating costs. |
