titleOfInvention | Cationic and Hybrid Curable Shock Gels |
abstract | The present invention relates to radiation curable phase change inks and overcoat compositions further comprising a gelling agent, a cationic curable monomer, a cationic photoinitiator, and optionally a radical curable monomer, and optionally a free radical photoinitiator. The phase change ink composition further contains a colorant. The phase change overcoat composition is free of colorants. The gelling agent may be an amide gelling agent. The cationically curable monomer can be selected from epoxides, vinyl ethers and oxetane. Cationic photoinitiators include triarylsulfonium salts, diaryliodonium salts, aryldiazonium salts, triarylselenium salts, dialkylphenacylsulfonium salts, triarylsulfonium salts, aryloxydiarylsulfonoxonium salts and dialkyl phenacyl silseol may be selected from the LOL iodonium salts, wherein the salts are BF 4 - is formed with an ion selected from -, PF 6 -, AsF 6 -, SbF 6 - and CF 3 SO 3. |
