abstract | Methanol (1) is oxidized in the first reactor of the first production system (A) to give an aqueous formaldehyde-containing stream (2), which is converted to pure trioxane (6). A process for producing a polyoxymethylene homopolymer or copolymer (7) by homopolymerization or copolymerization of trioxane starting from methanol (1), which is fed to the second production system (B) obtained is disclosed. In this process, the low boiling fraction (5) is separated by distillation and pure trioxane (6) is fed to the third production system (C), so that pure trioxane (6) in the third production system (C) Homopolymerization or copolymerization gives a polyoxymethylene homopolymer or copolymer (7). The disclosed process is characterized in that the stream 5 of the low boiling fraction is recycled from the column K2 separating the low boiling fraction to the inlet of the first reactor of the first production system A. |
