abstract |
An intrauterine system for maintaining a biologically active compound in the uterus of a female mammal is formed by a frame that defines an interior space for receiving a deposit of the compound. The frame has an open structure that allows access to a substantial portion of the outer surface of the deposit, and the deposit has a rate controlling structure that regulates the rate of release of the compound in the uterus. The retention component is provided on the frame for maintenance of the frame in the uterus. |
