abstract |
Bulletproof fabrics and articles are provided that maintain excellent ballistic resistance after exposure to liquids such as seawater and organic solvents such as gasoline and other petroleum-based articles. The fabric is formed of high performance fibers coated with a nitrile rubber binder polymer having an acrylonitrile content of about 15 wt% to about 50 wt% and optionally coated with a binder which is a mixture of nitrile rubber and fluorine-containing material. |
