Absorbent article with a partially wrapped functional waistband |
abstract |
An absorbent article having an extended waistband is disclosed. More specifically, the absorbent article includes a rear waistband and / or a front waistband surrounding a portion of the circumference of the waist opening. The absorbent article includes a front portion attached to the backside by a pair of stretchable side regions. Each side region is made from two or more panels connected together along a vertical attachment region. According to the invention, the waistband extends over the entire front part or the entire back part and the opposite ends terminate on the opposite side regions. However, each end of the waistband terminates before reaching the vertical attachment area, leaving a gap between the end and the vertical attachment area. The presence of crevices has been found to provide a variety of benefits and benefits, including improved stretch properties for article wearing. |
