abstract |
The present invention relates to a system and apparatus for regenerating an ionic liquid catalyst device deactivated by a binding polymer during any form of reaction to produce the binding polymer as a by-product, for example isoparaffin-olefin alkylation. The system and apparatus are designed such that solvent extraction of the binding polymer freed from the ionic liquid catalyst through reaction with aluminum metal can occur as soon as the binding polymer is debonded from the ionic liquid catalyst. |
