| abstract |
The present invention provides an imaging probe for an ultrasonic imaging catheter. This catheter is of a type that includes an envelope having a hole through which fluid flows in the distal end. The imaging probe includes a distal housing coupled to the drive shaft for rotation, a transducer for generating and sensing ultrasonic waves within the distal housing, and a fluid flow promoter for facilitating flow of fluid across the transducer in the envelope. |
