The method of making a phase change ink composition comprises adding at least one pigment, at least one dispersant and at least one synergist to a device having a stirring element, an elevated temperature and stirring rate at which the device is wetted with at least one pigment. Treating to obtain an ink concentrate, and mixing the ink concentrate with an ink developer to obtain an ink composition. The apparatus may be an extruder, an attritor, or the like. The method can reduce the amount of dispersant included in the ink. |
