abstract |
A method of identifying veins in a patient is disclosed. The technology involves the application of thermochromic inks to the venous area on the skin of a patient (human or animal). The thermochromic ink includes thermochromic microcapsules containing proton-accepting chromogens and desensitizers. The sensitizer has a melting point at which the chromogen is quantized at a temperature above the melting point so that color change can occur. The vein area is then observed for color change. |
