abstract |
Ballast and / or cooling water sterilization treatment and disinfection systems and techniques are provided. The system utilizes redox potential control to adjust the addition or concentration of the electrocatalytically generated biocide to the level of disinfection of ship buoyancy and to the level of biofouling in the ship cooling water system. Disinfection and bioattachment control systems provide adequate treatment while reducing the potential for corrosion of vessel configurations and, in some cases, unwanted disinfection by-products. |
