abstract |
Disclosed is a method for diagnosing graft versus host disease, comprising measuring the level of CCL8 protein as an indicator of diagnosis or course of graft versus host disease in a sample obtained from an individual. Also disclosed is a diagnostic reagent for graft-versus-host disease, comprising an anti-CCL8 antibody. The methods of the present invention allow for the diagnosis of onset of graft versus host disease and the monitoring of its progress, and in particular for the differential diagnosis between graft versus host disease and infectious disease. The invention also provides methods of treating graft-versus-host disease using anti-CCL8 antibodies. |
