A liquid crystal display device comprising a backlight including a white LED device in which a blue LED, a red light emitting phosphor, and a green light emitting phosphor are mixed and mixed, and a color filter including a plurality of color pixels including red pixels on a transparent substrate. The emission spectrum of the white LED device has a first peak wavelength at 440 nm or more and 470 nm or less, a second peak wavelength at 510 nm or more and 550 nm or less, and a third peak wavelength at 630 nm or more and 670 nm or less. The red display chromaticity of the liquid crystal display is in the chromaticity range connecting four points (0.620, 0.280), (0.620, 0.300), (0.680, 0.315), and (0.680, 0.280) in the xy chromaticity coordinate system. A liquid crystal display device and a color filter used therefor are provided. |
