Protein Production in Plants |
abstract |
A method of synthesizing a protein of interest in a plant or plant part is provided. The method includes the step of transiently introducing one or more nucleic acid sequences encoding a protein of interest operably linked to a regulatory region obtained from a photosynthetic gene active in a plant. The plant is then maintained under conditions that allow a nucleic acid sequence encoding a protein of interest to be expressed in the plant or part of the plant. Plants may be seeded prior to introducing one or more nuclear line sequences. |
