abstract An ATSC Advanced Television Systems Committee Digital Television (ATTV) transmitter transmits a digital multiplex that includes legacy DTV channels and mobile DTV channels. The mobile DTV channel is carried in a mobile packet that contains mobile data and additional mobile training information. The mobile packet contains 207 bytes, two bytes are header information, 20 bytes are Reed-Solomon (RS) parity information, and 185 bytes carry mobile data and mobile training information. Mobile training information is inserted in the mobile packet so that, after convolutional interleaving, additional training information appears in consecutive locations.
