Leukocyte function related antigen 1 (LFA-1) is a cell adhesion molecule that is selectively expressed on leukocytes and plays a major role in the activation and communication of T lymphocytes in tissues of inflammation. Numerous preclinical data have accumulated over the past decade to demonstrate the importance of LFA-1 as a biological target, especially in chronic T-cell induced inflammatory symptoms. The present invention provides pharmaceutically active 1,4-diazepan-2-one of formula (I) useful in the treatment of symptoms related to LFA-1 activity. |
