The present invention relates to building membrane structures. The building membrane structure preferably comprises an airgel material disposed between two outer layers, for example. The airgel may be in monolith or granular form or present in an aerogel complex. A method of making a building membrane structure includes securing an insert, such as an airgel blanket, composite or granular airgel between a first layer and a second layer. Building membrane structures of the present invention can be used as elongated panels in roofs, top projections, sunshades or other architectural or structural fabric applications. |
