abstract A pearlescent composition comprising a fatty acid glycol ester and water, further comprising (1) a polyoxyalkylene nonionic surfactant and a fatty acid having a content of 0.3 to 3% by weight in the pearlescent composition as a crystallization additive, and (2) polyoxy Aliphatic alcohol having an amount of 0.3 to 3% by weight in the alkylene-type nonionic surfactant and the pearlescent composition, (3) fatty acid monoglyceride having a content of 0.3 to 3% by weight in the pearlescent composition, and (4) in the pearlescent composition The pearlescent composition containing content selected from the group which consists of an aliphatic ether whose content is 0.3-3 weight%. The pearlescent composition of this invention is used suitably for a shampoo, a rinse, a body shampoo, a liquid detergent, etc.
