abstract | FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates generally to the field of molecular biology and to methods for enhancing a variety of economically important yield related traits in plants. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for enhancing the yield-related trait of a plant by regulating the expression of a nucleic acid encoding a Harpin-associated Factor G (HpaG) polypeptide in a plant. The present invention also relates to plants in which the expression of nucleic acids encoding HpaG polypeptides is regulated, which plants have improved yield related traits compared to control plants. The invention also provides constructs comprising HpaG encoding nucleic acids, useful for carrying out the methods of the invention. The present invention also modulates (preferably increases) expression of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a SWITCH 2 / SUCROSE NON-FERMENTING 2 (SWI2 / SNF2) polypeptide in a plant in the plant, thereby yielding plant-related traits relative to the control plant.
