abstract |
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for enhancing immune activity, comprising a saponin fraction extracted from ginseng to activate the phagocytosis of macrophages as an active ingredient. More specifically, the total crude saponin (TS), panaxadioldiol-saponin (PDS), and panaxadioltriol-saponin (PTS) fractions of ginseng enhance the phagocytic activity of macrophages against yeast at appropriate concentrations. It can be usefully used as an immune activity enhancer and a pathogenic microbial infection inhibitor. |
