abstract |
The present invention relates to a 5α-reductase inhibitory composition for improving prostate hyperplasia, comprising a mixture of lycopene-containing tomato extract and chitooligosaccharide as an active ingredient. The composition of the present invention exhibits an excellent effect of reducing the size of the prostate gland in prostatic hyperplasia by inhibiting 5α-reductase to inhibit dehydrotestosterone (DHT) synthesis. In addition, the tomato extract and chitooligosaccharide used as active ingredients in the composition of the present invention is advantageous for mass production on an industrial scale, and is easy to develop as a medicine and food because it is harmless to the human body. |
