abstract | The present invention relates to a novel viologen derivative capable of realizing a variety of colors when electrochromic and showing a fast response speed and an electrochromic device including the same. The electrochromic viologen derivative of the present invention is a compound having an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkylene group or an alkyl halide as a functional group at the terminal of 4,4'-bipyridyl and has a structure of Formula 1, and is easy and simple to synthesize. When the electrochromic device is formed, there is an advantage that it shows a fast response speed and high color contrast when voltage is applied. |
