Polymer-Ceramic Composites and Methods |
abstract |
Methods and apparatus are provided for composite materials that are readily applied to surfaces such as bone defects that require filling or strengthening, and the like. The composite material provides good mechanical properties such as compressive strength immediately after curing in the presence of water. The selected materials and methods described above are also bioabsorbable at an adjustable rate of absorption to provide the desired form. Embodiments of selected pharmaceutical reagents also provide advantages such as bone growth and formation, infection resistance, pain control, and the like. |
