Porous bioabsorbable dressing suitable for wounds and a method of manufacturing the same |
abstract |
The method of making a porous bioabsorbable dressing provides a method of applying decompression therapy to a wound site. The method involves the manufacture of a dressing using one or more bioabsorbable polymers and one or more porogen systems. The malleability of the dressing allows the dressing to be placed at the wound site to match the shape and size of the wound. Embodiments include the use of hand moldings and the formation of rope dressings. The porogen system may be activated for the skin to the wound site or may be formed in situ within the wound site, thus coating a porous dressing. The reduced pressure delivery tube is fluidly connected to the wound site to deliver a reduced pressure to the wound site.n n n n Bioabsorbable polymers, porogen systems, dressings, decompression therapy. |
