abstract The present invention relates to the synthesis of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds or resorcinol with Yb (OTf) 3 or ethylenediaminediacetate-catalyzed reactions of α, β-unsaturated aldehydes for the synthesis of 2H-pyranes or benzopyrans. A rapid route has been identified, and these reactions include electroring reactions for the construction of 2H-pyran and benzopyran rings, which is a very efficient and simple method for synthesizing the products of natural mollugin and its derivatives.
