abstract | The present invention relates to a silane coating material and a method of making a silane coating. According to the general conditions, one or more silanes which are not precondensed or only minimally precondensed are added to the reaction partner according to the invention proposed to produce a silane coating material which avoids the disadvantages specified above. The coating material produced is applied to the substrate and then cured. Surprisingly, it has been found that a new class of coating materials has been created by the reaction of more polymeric and possibly slightly precrosslinked silanes with appropriate reaction partners. According to the prior art, silanes are processed according to the sol-gel method starting with precondensed species. The approach according to the invention is advantageous in that there is no limitation on the usable time and in that further improved properties of the coating material, in particular high scratch resistance, are obtained. |
