abstract |
An acrylic resin material having a ductile high refractive index is disclosed. Such materials which are particularly useful as intraocular lens materials contain aryl acrylic hydrophobic monomers as single main device forming monomers and macromer additives that reduce tack. In addition to their use as intraocular lens materials, the materials of the present invention are also suitable for use in other ophthalmic or otolaryngological devices such as contact lenses, artificial corneal grafts, corneal inlays or corneal rings, otolaryngological ventilation tubes and nasal implants.
