titleOfInvention Self-Adjusting Upper Band with Pressure Data Processing
abstract Self-adjusting upper band device 400 for size adjustment of the storm. The device includes an adjustable upper band 460 that expands the inner ring with the injected fluid. A band adjustment assembly 442 is provided for implantation with the upper band which includes a sensor 450 for sensing fluid pressure in the inner ring. The band adjustment assembly further includes a pump assembly connected to the expandable inner ring and to a controller 432 that can operate the pump assembly to adjust the volume of fluid in the band based on the sensed fluid pressure. The band adjustment assembly includes a memory 436 that stores an operating range for the target fluid pressure, and the pump assembly operates to maintain the sensed band pressure within the operating range. Target pressure is set to maintain the pressure below a predetermined dispersion limit, which generally corresponds to the satiety filling volume for a particular patient and implanted band.
